Before she falls asleep
My daughter
pulls my arm to her nose
breathes in deep
Mommy, she says,
you smell like
pineapple
and
me
and
you
She smells her own skin
She says, Mommy,
I smell like
lemonade
and
you
and
me
Then she lets go
closes her eyes
drifts
into dreams of
pineapple
and lemonade
ponies

That is so sweet.
Something my daughter would say . . .
that's lovely. it's inspiring a painting....could the antibiotic fog be lifting!?
